Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of fantasybutler.com and the Fantasy Butler service (collectively, "the Service"), operated by Mike Yan ("we", "us", "our"). By using the Service, you agree to these terms.

If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. By using it, you confirm you are 18 or older and have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement.

2. Accounts

Some Service features planned for launch in August 2026 require an account. You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials.
• All activity that occurs under your account.
• Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or that we suspect are compromised.

3. Subscription and Billing

Effective when paid features launch:

• Subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly basis at the rate posted on the site at signup.
• Monthly subscriptions are non-refundable for the current billing period. You may cancel at any time; access continues through the end of your paid period.
• Annual subscriptions, if offered, are refundable on a prorated basis within 14 days of the initial charge.
• We may change pricing with at least 30 days' notice by email. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
• Failed payments may result in suspension of service until resolved.

Payments are processed by Stripe. By subscribing, you agree to Stripe's terms.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems, other users' accounts, or fantasy-platform credentials beyond what you have authorized.
• Resell, sublicense, or redistribute access to the Service.
• Use automated scraping, crawling, or harvesting beyond what robots.txt allows.
• Submit false or misleading information.
• Interfere with the Service's operation, including rate-limit evasion, DDoS attacks, or exploitation of bugs.
• Use the Service to violate the terms of any third-party fantasy platform you connect.

We may suspend or terminate access for violations.

5. Fantasy-Platform Integration

The Service integrates with third-party fantasy platforms such as Yahoo, ESPN, CBS, Sleeper, and others through OAuth, official APIs where available, or DOM automation where official APIs are not available. By connecting a fantasy account:

• You authorize us to access that account on your behalf to deliver the Service's functionality.
• You acknowledge that the third-party platform's terms apply to your use of that platform, not ours.
• You can revoke our access at any time through the third-party platform's settings or by deleting your Fantasy Butler account.

We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or partnered with any fantasy platform unless explicitly stated.

6. Disclaimers

No guarantee of fantasy outcomes. The Service automates lineup decisions, waiver bids, and roster moves based on projections, statistical models, and configurable preferences. Fantasy sports involve randomness. We make no guarantee that using the Service will improve your win rate, league finish, or any other competitive outcome.

AI-assisted advice is informational. Fantasy Butler uses algorithmic decision-making, including AI-driven projections and recommendations. These are informational. Final responsibility for your team rests with you.

The Service is provided "as is." We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available in your jurisdiction.

7. Intellectual Property

We own the Service, including all software, content, branding, and design, except for content you provide. Your fantasy data, account preferences, and feedback remain yours, and you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to use that content to operate and improve the Service.

You may not copy, modify, redistribute, or create derivative works of our content without written permission.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages.
• Our total liability arising out of or related to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim or $100.
• We are not liable for losses arising from third-party fantasy platform changes, outages, or actions.

Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations; in those cases the limitations apply to the maximum extent permitted.

9. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses, including reasonable attorney's fees, arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any third party's rights.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access at any time for violations of these terms or if we believe continued service poses risk to us, our users, or third parties.

On termination, your right to use the Service ends. Sections that by their nature should survive, including Disclaimers, Limitation of Liability, Indemnification, Governing Law, and Dispute Resolution, will survive termination.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.

12. Dispute Resolution

Informal resolution first. Email hello@fantasybutler.com describing your dispute. We will respond within 30 days and make a good-faith effort to resolve it.

If we cannot resolve informally, disputes will be resolved by binding arbitration in Maryland under the rules of the American Arbitration Association, or in small-claims court if eligible. You waive any right to a jury trial or to participate in a class action.

This arbitration clause does not apply to actions to enforce intellectual property rights or to disputes for which arbitration is prohibited by law.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these terms. Material changes will be announced by email or by a notice on the site at least 30 days before the effective date. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

14. Severability

If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remain in effect.
